Description:
Amey is offering an exciting opportunity for a Permanent STE06 Civil Engineer to join their CEFA account in the Southern region of England. Amey has a longstanding partnership with Network Rail and has been responsible for delivering aspects of the Civil Examination Framework Agreement (CEFA) contracts since 2009. The company undertakes various structural examinations, technical monitoring, and rapid response services across multiple routes in the UK.
As a STE06 Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the condition of railway structures. You will work closely with the CEFA team, consisting of approximately 200 structures examiners, to assess over 70,000 structures across the country. The role involves using new technology to ensure compliance with relevant standards, delivering reports on structural conditions, and assisting with safety critical site support duties.
Compile and submit condition reports using the structures database system for review by the Examining Engineers team.
Complete railway, safety, and technical training as set out in the training agreement.
Utilize handheld technology to determine the structural condition of assets within the structures database or other agreed systems.
Perform special examinations for sensitive structures and assist with monitoring schemes.
Undertake reconnaissance visits to assess the conditions of railway structures.
Provide safety-critical support as required (e.g., COSS, ES SWL1 and 2).
STE06 qualified (essential).
Educated to degree level or equivalent with an Engineering/Construction background (preferable).
IRATA qualified (preferable).
COSS/IWA competencies (preferable).
Full driving license.
Ability to plan and deliver work to set deadlines.
Pass initial and random drug and alcohol screenings.
Strong literacy and verbal communication skills.
IT literate, with proficiency in Word and Excel.
