Description:
Cathedral Appointments is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Lawyer to join their Tier 1-ranked Marine Team based in Plymouth. This is a full-time, hybrid role with parking facilities and occasional remote working. You will also assist with ship arrest/detention and regulatory prosecutions, such as those brought by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and Marine Management Organisation (MMO).
The Marine Team is known for its progressive and industry-integrated approach—many team members pursue sailing qualifications and even training as commercial fishermen to deepen their understanding and credibility within the industry.

Manage a wide range of civil litigation matters within the marine sector
Handle claims involving insurance, personal injury, salvage, negligence, and shipping casualties
Participate in regulatory defence cases, including criminal prosecutions and fisheries offences
