Cleaning Operative

Description:

Derwent FM, a specialist facilities management provider under the Places for People Group, is hiring 5 Cleaning Operatives to support cleaning operations at The Royal College of Art campuses in Kensington and Battersea. This role involves ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards across various facilities, contributing to a safe and pleasant environment. You will play a key part in maintaining the college’s standards while benefiting from a stable, permanent position with valuable employee perks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including clearing waste bins, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning indoor frames, glass doors, and other surfaces.

• Follow assigned cleaning schedules and standards to ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard.

• Safely use and handle cleaning materials and equipment.

• Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including safeguarding policies.

• Collaborate with the facilities management team to address any specific cleaning or maintenance needs.

Shifts Available:

• Early Morning Shift: 5:00 am – 9:00 am (4 positions)

• Morning/Afternoon Shift: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm (1 position)

• All roles are Monday to Friday, totaling 20 hours per week.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience in a similar cleaning or facilities support role is preferred.

• Familiarity with cleaning materials and equipment.

• Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

• Must pass a basic DBS check as part of the safer recruitment process.
