Psicon Ltd is seeking highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Adult Psychiatrists to join its expanding Independent Clinician Network, specializing in Autism and ADHD assessments for adults aged 18 and over. This position offers flexibility, independence, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of neurodiverse individuals and their families.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist within Psicon’s established multidisciplinary framework, you will conduct comprehensive developmental and diagnostic assessments, collaborate closely with clinical teams, and provide professional, evidence-based recommendations. The role accommodates remote, hybrid, or in-clinic work, offering unparalleled flexibility and professional autonomy while maintaining a strong sense of purpose and clinical excellence.
Conduct comprehensive developmental histories using standardized assessment tools for individuals undergoing autism and ADHD evaluations.
Administer and interpret ADHD assessments and clinical interviews.
Review developmental histories, collateral information, and observation reports during the assessment process.
Formulate accurate diagnoses, provide detailed feedback to patients and families, and offer recommendations with empathy and clarity.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) when additional information or follow-up sessions are required.
Produce high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours of assessment (supported by Psicon’s admin team for formatting and quality control).
Request onward referrals as clinically appropriate, in line with NHS Trust/ICB protocols.
Uphold the organization’s values of commitment, trust, integrity, and kindness in every interaction.
GMC-registered doctor with a valid license to practice in the UK.
Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Adult Psychiatry is essential.
Demonstrated expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD assessments for adults.
Up-to-date with revalidation and appraisal requirements.
Must hold appropriate indemnity insurance for self-employed clinical practice.
Strong clinical judgment, compassion, and commitment to high standards of patient care.
Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the clinical network.
Up to four appointments per day, scheduled flexibly around your availability.
Work remotely, on-site, or hybrid at Psicon’s clinics in Basingstoke or Canterbury.
Choose your own working days and hours (Monday to Sunday) to accommodate your lifestyle and commitments.
Self-employed role, operating outside IR35.
