Continuous Improvement Specialist

Description:

Clariant, a Swiss-based global specialty chemicals company, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist for its Aberdeen operational facility serving the oil industry. This position plays a critical role in supporting the operational performance of the site through process optimization, sustainability initiatives, cost management, and continuous improvement projects. Reporting to the Aberdeen Site Manager, the specialist will actively contribute to business efficiencies while working closely with cross-functional departments, both locally and with Africa sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage general site services and process indirect purchases for Aberdeen and African sites.

• Develop costing modules for both new and existing products and ensure the cost sheet remains up to date.

• Support tender processes through accurate costing assistance and ensure timely responses to price requests.

• Approve and process vendor invoices; set up new vendors in SAP.

• Record, monitor, and report on sustainability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Participate in and support various process and operational improvement projects across the site.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Administration or a relevant discipline.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a high-paced, demanding environment.

• Demonstrated ability to analyse complex datasets, perform root cause analysis, and present findings effectively.

• Proven skills in prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.

• Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Project is an advantage.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across multiple departments.
