Description:
Join a world leader in the planning and implementation of paint shops for the automotive industry, specialising in robotic solutions for innovative projects. We are seeking a Controls Design & Commissioning Engineer to work within the West Midlands region, with frequent travel across the UK and sometimes overseas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and fault-find control systems within the automotive industry.
- Design and code PLC programs using Siemens Step7/TIA and/or Rockwell Control Logix programming software.
- Design SCADA systems, using relevant programming languages such as Javascript, C#, or VB Script.
- Work closely with customers on-site to implement and commission systems, ensuring the highest quality of delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical challenges and optimise system performance.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualifications: HNC or equivalent in software/electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with PLC programming and SCADA system design.
- Strong knowledge of Siemens Step7/TIA and/or Rockwell Control Logix programming software.
- Ability to work methodically and independently, while also collaborating with teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
- Flexible approach to travel and work schedules, including weekends and shifts as required.
- Comfortable working on customer sites both in the UK and occasionally abroad (4-6 weeks max).
