Customs Delivery Manager

Description:

A.P. Moller - Maersk, a global leader in integrated logistics, is seeking a Customs Delivery Manager to join their operations in Derby, UK, on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will lead the customs team at a brand-new site at East Midlands Gateway, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant customs operations while mentoring and managing performance of the team.

This leadership role requires a proactive approach to managing people, processes, and client communications. The Customs Delivery Manager will be responsible for all operational activities, ensuring financial and operational KPIs are met, and driving continuous improvement. The position includes responsibilities in team productivity, client engagement, regulatory compliance, reporting, financial performance, and leading customs-related projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Managing team absence, onboarding, and performance through structured frameworks like MPACT.

• Ensuring compliance with HM Customs & Revenue systems and internal procedures.

• Overseeing customer communications and dispute resolution.

• Driving continuous operational and financial improvements.

• Developing reports and ensuring key deadlines are met.

• Promoting Maersk’s values and fostering employee engagement.

• Supporting growth initiatives and innovation in operations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Extensive knowledge of UK customs regulations and systems.

• Proven leadership experience managing customs or logistics teams.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
