Description:

Queen Square Recruitment, on behalf of a leading global organization, is seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to join a fast-paced data and analytics team based in Warwick, UK. This is a 6-month rolling contract (Inside IR35) designed for an experienced data professional who excels in developing and optimizing scalable data solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining modern data pipelines and ETL processes that power critical business insights. This role involves hands-on work with tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Snowflake, and Python, ensuring seamless data flow, integration, and transformation across diverse data domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Azure-based data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF).

  • Integrate and manage data from multiple sources within Snowflake and Azure Data Platforms.

  • Develop and optimise data workflows and transformations in Databricks for analytics and reporting.

  • Use Python for automation, data wrangling, and orchestration of pipelines.

  • Write, tune, and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and performance enhancement.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot data flow issues, ensuring data integrity, quality, and system reliability.

  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to design robust and scalable data solutions.

  • Ensure all processes comply with data governance, security, and compliance standards.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Azure Data Engineering roles.

  • Advanced expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF) for ETL and orchestration.

  • Proficient in Databricks, Snowflake, and Python.

  • Strong understanding of SQL for querying and optimization.

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills in complex data environments.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • 6–8 years of experience in data engineering or data-intensive technical roles.

  • Familiarity with data modelling techniques, cloud data security, and advanced analytics.

  • Type: 6-Month Rolling Contract

  • Rate: £350 per day (Inside IR35)

  • Location: Warwick, UK (On-site)

  • Working Arrangement: Office-based, full-time
