Dental Nurse Course Director

 

Description:

Tipton Training is seeking an experienced and dedicated Dental Nurse Course Director to lead its Dental Nurse Program. This is a key role that involves overseeing curriculum development, managing course delivery, and ensuring high standards of training for future dental professionals. The successful candidate will have a strong background as a registered dental nurse with experience in education and program management. A qualification in assessing or teaching (such as PGCE or Certificate in Education) would be advantageous.

You will be the primary point of contact for both course participants and stakeholders, ensuring an exceptional learning experience. In this role, you will supervise course activities, assist with curriculum updates, provide mentorship, and help manage the team of instructors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of the Dental Nurse Program, ensuring compliance with General Dental Council (GDC) standards.

  • Oversee day-to-day course activities including lectures, assessments, and practical training sessions.

  • Develop and review curriculum content to reflect current trends in dental nursing and meet regulatory requirements.

  • Guide students, offering mentorship and support, and track progress with timely feedback on assessments.

  • Supervise and support a team of instructors and assessors, ensuring they deliver high-quality training.

  • Work with the leadership team to develop growth strategies for the program.

  • Promote the program through stakeholder engagement and collaboration with marketing teams to attract prospective students.

Requirements:

  • Registered Dental Nurse with current GDC registration.

  • Educational qualifications such as a PGCE or Certificate in Education.

  • Assessing qualification (A1, TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent) preferred, but not essential.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a qualified dental nurse with at least 2 years in an educational role.

  • Experience in managing dental or healthcare training programs.

  • Knowledge of GDC standards and regulatory requirements for dental nurse training in the UK.

Desirable Skills & Attributes:

  • Advanced clinical knowledge in dental nursing, infection control, and patient care.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to challenges in program delivery.

  • Digital literacy with familiarity in online learning platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
