Electrical Design Engineer

Description:

Advanced Technical Recruitment is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading designer and manufacturer of specialist Scientific Instrumentation in Bristol. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and components for industry-leading products, ensuring compliance with EN60204-33, EN13849, UL, and CSA standards, along with experience in CE marking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement electrical systems and components.

• Produce detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard CAD software.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with mechanical, software, and firmware components.

• Plan engineering tasks and allocate resources alongside management and Lead Engineers.

• Mentor and provide guidance to engineering team members, supporting professional growth and onboarding of new staff.

• Support other departments with queries and requests related to electrical engineering functions.

• Drive continuous improvement of the engineering function and contribute to other departments where possible.

• Enhance communication and leadership capabilities while developing technical expertise.

Skills & Experience:

• Degree or higher in a relevant engineering subject.

• Experience with electrical and mechanical design software.

• Knowledge of electrical engineering standards including EN60204-33, EN13849, UL, CSA, and CE marking.

• Strong skills in electrical systems, CAD, schematics, and electrical design.

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

• Resident in the UK with eligibility to live and work in the UK.
