Engineering Operations Director

A newly created opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Operations Director to join a successful multi-site manufacturing business. Reporting to the Divisional Head of Operations and sitting on the senior leadership team, you will lead the engineering function, driving operational excellence, continuous improvement and strategic engineering capability across multiple sites.

The Role

You will provide strategic leadership for manufacturing engineering, maintenance, facilities, projects and operational engineering, ensuring engineering supports business growth, safety, quality and operational performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and deliver the engineering strategy across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Lead, coach and develop high-performing engineering teams.
• Drive a culture of safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Deliver capital investment programmes and engineering projects.
• Improve operational efficiency, reliability and manufacturing performance.
• Support new product introduction and business change initiatives.
• Manage engineering budgets and resources.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

About You

You will be an accomplished engineering leader with experience operating in a complex manufacturing environment and a proven ability to lead change.

You will have:

• Senior engineering leadership experience across manufacturing operations.
• Expertise in manufacturing engineering, maintenance, facilities and engineering projects.
• Experience delivering continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budget management.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience delivering capital investment programmes.
• A degree in Engineering and professional Health & Safety or Lean qualifications would be advantageous.
