Performance Therapist

Description:

We’re seeking a full-time Performance Therapist to join our Performance Services Team and play a central role in supporting student-athletes across Cardiff Met’s Performance Sport Programme. As part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver high-quality sports rehabilitation, injury management and matchday support, helping athletes perform at their best while contributing to an exceptional experience.

You’ll Make a Difference By
 

• Working collaboratively with the Head of Performance Services, Head Physiotherapist, Heads of Sport and the wider multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of our performance programmes.
• Contributing to the planning, delivery and administration of a robust rehabilitation service, ensuring athletes have access to effective individual and group-based support.
• Providing on-field, pitch-side and gym-based support across our performance programmes, working with the wider multidisciplinary team, academic staff and student workforce to deliver an excellent service.
• Using athlete monitoring systems, diagnostic technologies and digital reporting tools to inform decision-making, support athlete development and maintain professional and governance standards.
   

What You’ll Bring

You will bring significant experience as a Sports Therapist within a sporting environment, combining strong clinical expertise with effective problem solving and communication skills. Working closely with athletes, coaches and colleagues, you’ll play a key role in supporting performance, wellbeing and recovery.

Additionally, You’ll
 

• Have experience of assessing and treating musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.
• Be confident delivering match day and pitch side medical support.
• Be able to build positive relationships and work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Hold a degree in Sports Rehabilitation (or a related discipline), alongside full BASRaT/SST registration and a recognised pitch-side sports trauma qualification.
