As a Fibre Quality Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the performance, integrity, and reliability of CityFibre’s extensive network. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving network issues across multiple locations, maintaining optimal service levels from the Fibre Exchange to the end-user premises.

This hands-on role involves technical expertise in fibre maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation, combined with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence. You will work across various environments—from field installations to network centres—managing complex repairs and ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain fibre network performance through proactive monitoring and management.

• Diagnose and resolve fibre network issues, including signal loss and physical damage, to ensure uninterrupted service.

• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools for efficient network troubleshooting and repair.

• Conduct and oversee complex fibre installations and repairs, adhering to all safety standards and protocols.

• Audit field operations and ensure compliance with best practices for safe systems of work.

• Travel across multiple areas including Lincoln, Newark on Trent, Derby, Nottingham, Great Glen, Leicester, Loughborough, and Queniborough.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with fibre networks, including network builds and FTTx installations.

• Knowledge of fibre splicing, fibre blowing, and network fault diagnosis.

• Skilled in OTDR/IOLM testing and familiar with PIA (duct/pole) installations.

• Possession of NRSWA (Units 2 and 10) and SA001/SA002 Smart Awards certifications.

• Valid UK driving licence (mandatory).

• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to field operations.
