Field Service Technician

Ganymede is currently recruiting for a Field Service Technician – Diesel Engines to join a prestigious engineering organisation based in Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose faults in modern diesel engines and propulsion systems.

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on a range of diesel technologies.

• Provide exceptional service delivery on-site within customer environments.

• Complete diagnostics, including remote and condition-based monitoring.

• Operate under strict safety standards in rail sector environments.

• Undertake shift work (6am–2pm and 10pm–6am) on a 4-on, 4-off rotation.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline (essential).

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, both electrical and mechanical.

• Diagnostic expertise, with experience in fault finding and system monitoring.

• Must be able to pass safety-critical pre-employment checks, including drug and alcohol screening.

• Suitable for candidates from the military (RAF, Royal Navy, Army) or experienced professionals from marine, HGV, automotive, or bus sectors.
