Finance Business Partner

Description:

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Bedfordshire for a Finance Business Partner (Technical) to join the team on a permanent basis. The postholder will lead on technical accounting within the authority and will deliver the Council’s Financial Statements in line with Statutory requirements and timescales.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high quality technical financial services including:
• Closure of Accounts
• Technical Financial Advice
• Treasury Management
• Capital Investment Appraisal and Capital Accounting
• Lead on Capital Strategy development, capital planning and annual capital budget process and provide financial advice and guidance on financial developments
• Lead on the closure of accounts and the production of the Statement of Accounts.
• Provide support and a robust challenge throughout the financial year in relation to capital budget monitoring complying at all times with agreed timetables.

Candidate Criteria

• CCAB/CIMA Qualified with post qualification experience in a similar role
• Experience of working in a technical accounting role within a Local Authority
• Experience of leading on closure of accounts, including preparation of statement of accounts and liaising with external audit.
• Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
