Finance Manager

A well-established business in the recruitment sector is seeking a hands-on and commercially minded Finance Manager/Senior MA to join its finance team in Theale, Reading. Sitting as the number two to the Finance Director, this is a key leadership role with responsibility for overseeing day-to-day finance operations and managing members of the finance team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across a broad finance remit and is looking to step into a management position with real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Finance Director with financial planning, reporting, and commercial insight
• Lead the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely management accounts
• Manage day-to-day finance operations including reconciliations, month-end, and payroll
• Oversee and mentor finance team members
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and banking partners
• Identify and drive process improvements to support business efficiency

What We’re Looking For:

• Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA, or qualified by experience (QBE)
• Strong financial operations experience, ideally within recruitment, professional services, or an SME environment
• Confident managing people and owning core finance processes
• Proven experience in preparing and reviewing management accounts
• Good working knowledge of budgeting, reporting, and accounting systems
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
