Description:
Halliday Marx have partnered with an outstanding media business to hire a Finance Manager on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including invoicing, reconciliations, and query resolution.
- Act as the primary finance point of contact for internal stakeholders and external suppliers/customers.
- Supervise and support the Accounts Assistant, including training, task delegation, and workflow management.
- Review and approve event settlements, payments, and transactional postings.
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations and manage bank feeds.
- Oversee weekly payment runs, payroll processing, and cashflow forecasting.
- Manage corporate prepaid card systems and ensure accurate reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate customer and supplier master data.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review transactional bookkeeping for accuracy and completeness.
- Calculate and submit VAT and CIS returns.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and corporate credit cards.
- Oversee stock reconciliations and operational finance reporting.
- Prepare audit schedules and support year-end close.
- Assist with corporation tax queries and statutory reporting requirements.
Requirements
- Strong experience in management accounting and operational finance.
- Solid working knowledge of Xero or similar accounting systems.
- Experience managing AP, AR, payroll, cashflow, and reconciliations.
- Confident communicator with ability to liaise across departments.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior finance staff.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (AAT / ACCA / CIMA / ACA) preferred but not essential, depending on experience.
