Financial Accountant

Description:

A leading Real Estate and Housing Group based in Leeds is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Financial Accountant to join their expanding finance team. This role is ideal for an ACA/ACCA-qualified professional with a strong background in audit, preferably trained in a Big Four or Top 10 accountancy firm. It provides the opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment with exposure to group consolidations, technical accounting, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the group consolidation process and production of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS

• Contribute to the quarterly management report, including drafting insightful financial commentaries

• Support group budgeting and forecasting processes

• Prepare supporting schedules and provide analysis for senior management and external stakeholders

• Maintain and update quarterly schedules including leases, depreciation, deferred charges, interest accruals, etc.

• Conduct research on technical accounting issues, preparing detailed file notes and memos for complex or non-routine transactions (based on experience)

Role Requirements:

• ACA or ACCA qualified with minimum 3 years' experience in external audit

• Trained in a Big Four or Top 10 firm is preferred

• Exposure to or understanding of the real estate, housing, or construction sector is advantageous

• Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills
