Financial Accountant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a growing Financial Control team within a large, complex and highly regulated organisation.

This newly created role will offer ownership of working capital reporting and provide broad exposure across financial reporting, accounting controls and business partnering activities. Working closely with teams across Finance, you'll support the delivery of high-quality financial information that enables strategic decision-making across a large-scale operational programme.

This position would suit someone who enjoys combining strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on involvement in working capital management, inventory accounting and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and develop working capital reporting, analysis and KPI monitoring
• Lead month-end working capital reporting, including variance analysis and management commentary
• Manage inventory accounting processes and controls
• Review and enhance balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items
• Support monthly, statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
• Prepare technical accounting assessments and accounting papers under IFRS
• Support internal and external audit processes
• Strengthen financial controls, policies and procedures
• Drive finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

Skills and personal attributes:

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
• Strong understanding of working capital accounting, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Inventory
• Experience managing month-end close processes
• Strong IFRS knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
