Firmware Engineer

Description:

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join the Advanced Development Group (ADG) within the Communications Product Group. This role involves developing firmware and FPGA aspects of Satellite Communications (SATCOM) modem products based on Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Analyse customer needs and define solutions
✔ Develop software/firmware prototypes in an agile environment
✔ Test solutions in both lab and field settings
✔ Support demonstrations of solutions to customers
✔ Develop and refine prototypes to deployment standards

Required Skills & Qualifications:

📌 Experience in FPGA firmware development using VHDL and/or Verilog
📌 Proficiency in embedded system firmware modelling, simulation, and debugging
📌 Familiarity with FPGA development tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Xilinx Vivado, Vivado HLS, and HDL Coder
📌 Experience with System-on-Chip (SoC), including RFSoC and Versal ACAP
📌 Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance
