Flood Resilience Team Member

Description:

The Environment Agency is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Flood Resilience Team Member to support East Anglia’s flood incident management service. The role focuses on building resilient communities by assisting with flood preparedness, response, and recovery activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate internal and external enquiries, including Freedom of Information requests and MP briefings, ensuring timely and high-quality responses.

• Support Technical Specialists in maintaining and improving flood warning system data using GIS and other databases.

• Assist Incident Management leads in updating procedures, training materials, and rosters to deliver a competent and resilient flood incident management service.

• Aid Engagement Advisors in producing materials for stakeholder engagement and supporting community events.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.

• Proactive approach to work with the confidence to make decisions independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload.

• Knowledge of GIS tools, with willingness to undertake further training.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with Flood & Coastal Risk Management and incident management practices.
