Description:

Lord Wandsworth College, a prestigious independent educational institution founded in 1922 and registered as a charity (Number: 1143359), is seeking a Food Service Assistant to join its dynamic catering team. The role plays a crucial part in providing exceptional food service to staff, pupils, and guests while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and customer service.

The catering department is well-equipped and committed to promoting healthy eating, innovation in food choices, and an enhanced dining experience for the school community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver an engaging, efficient, and hygienic food service experience.

  • Assist in serving meals and refreshments to staff, pupils, and visitors.

  • Load and unload dishwashers, ensuring proper cleaning and storage of utensils and equipment.

  • Clear, wash, and dry all relevant cutlery, crockery, trays, and kitchenware.

  • Clean and maintain dining hall, tables, work surfaces, and floors to the highest standards.

  • Manage waste by emptying and removing refuse from all front-of-house areas.

  • Contribute to maintaining a welcoming and tidy dining environment.


Working Hours & Contract

  • Term-time (33 weeks per year): Monday – Friday, 09:30 – 15:00

  • Cleaning/Development Days: 10 days per academic year (7.5 hours per day)

  • Lettings: Four weeks per year (32.5 hours per week; total 130 hours)
