Description:
IT Proposal is actively seeking a skilled and resourceful Freelance IT Support Engineer based in Manchester to provide on-site technical support to clients in diverse business settings. This freelance opportunity is ideal for independent IT professionals who enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, working with end users, and resolving a variety of hardware, software, and network-related issues.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Windows environments, Office 365, and VPN connectivity, with strong familiarity in managing tickets through platforms like ServiceNow or Jira. A proactive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and a professional approach to on-site client engagement are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver on-site support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues promptly and efficiently
Manage tickets using tools such as ServiceNow or Jira
Support Office 365, Active Directory, and VPN connectivity
Set up user workstations, meeting rooms, and ensure seamless tech operations
Communicate clearly with end users and deliver exceptional customer service
Operate independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
Proven experience in IT Support (L1–L2; L3 is a bonus)
Strong technical proficiency in Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory, VPNs
Hands-on experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms
Excellent communication, professionalism, and problem-solving abilities
Driver’s license and personal transport are preferred
Flexibility for urgent or short-notice assignments
