Fuel Handling Technician

Description:

BWSC, a global leader in power plant operation, maintenance, and engineering services, is seeking a Fuel Handling Technician for its Widnes Biomass CHP facility. This role involves fuel reception, handling, and by-product removal to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The ideal candidate should have experience with large mobile plant machinery and a proactive, safety-first approach to operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate fuel handling and by-product plants safely and efficiently.
• Perform daily equipment checks, inspections, and maintenance support.
• Load/unload fuel and by-products for site operations.
• Ensure fuel quality compliance and conduct periodic stock audits.
• Record maintenance tasks and defect reports in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Support planned outages and maintenance activities.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental management protocols.
• Maintain adherence to company policies and operational standards.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience operating large mobile plant machinery (Loading Shovel, Log Handler, Forklift Truck, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and take feedback constructively.
• Basic IT skills for data entry and daily logs.
• A flexible and proactive work approach.
