Global Procurement Manager

 

Description:

Cedar is seeking a hands-on, commercially astute Global Procurement Manager - Software to lead strategic sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management of enterprise software suppliers. This is a critical role within a global, innovation-led organization operating in over 40 countries, generating approximately £5 billion in revenue. Procurement plays a vital role supporting the company's technology-driven transformation journey.

The successful candidate will manage licensing, cloud agreements, and commercial contracts with Tier 1 vendors such as Microsoft, Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, Workday, ServiceNow, and Adobe. They will work closely with senior IT and transformation stakeholders to develop and execute category strategies that optimize supplier agreements for value, risk mitigation, and business alignment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end software procurement processes including license renewals, new purchases, RFPs, negotiations, and contract management

  • Manage commercial relationships with Tier 1 software vendors across cloud, SaaS, PaaS, and enterprise platforms

  • Collaborate with IT, finance, legal, and transformation teams to align sourcing strategies with business roadmaps and cost forecasts

  • Drive commercial optimization of software spend by leveraging volume, bundling, and usage data to reduce total cost of ownership

  • Own contract lifecycle processes ensuring compliance with licensing terms, usage rights, renewal clauses, and audit protections

  • Monitor vendor performance and manage key renewals ensuring continued alignment with business and compliance requirements

  • Support the enhancement of software asset management and procurement practices across the organization


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience in enterprise software procurement and licensing, particularly cloud and SaaS models

  • Proven ability to manage relationships and contracts with major Tier 1 vendors like Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, SAP, Workday, Adobe

  • Deep knowledge of commercial terms, contract risks, and governance in SaaS, cloud subscriptions, perpetual licensing, and enterprise agreements

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior IT leadership

  • Strong negotiation skills for complex software contracts

  • Solutions-driven, proactive, and able to adapt in a fast-moving environment
