Allen & York are partnering with Maldon Salt, a fourth-generation family-owned business known globally for artisan pyramid salt, to recruit a Health and Safety Manager. This is a new role within the company, based in the Maldon region, reporting to the QSE Manager.

This hands-on role supports and ensures compliance across all operations, including manufacturing, distribution, and packaging. The Health and Safety Manager will collaborate with various teams to drive improvements and positive behavior change regarding health and safety practices.

The role requires acting as the technical expert for health and safety, ensuring all safety documentation compliance, contractor management on-site, new starter inductions, audits, risk assessments, and other departmental support activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support health & safety compliance across manufacturing, distribution, and packaging sites.

• Liaise with key stakeholders to influence improvements and behavioral changes.

• Manage contractors on-site ensuring compliance with safety standards.

• Conduct new starter inductions, audit programs, and risk assessments.

• Act as technical expert for safety documentation and procedures.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience working in Health & Safety within FMCG or manufacturing environments.

• Skilled in installing and auditing management systems.

• Strong communicator able to build relationships with key stakeholders.

• NEBOSH qualified, ideally Diploma level.

• Current driving licence essential.

• Demonstrates strong work ethic and a collaborative “can-do” attitude.

• Committed to high standards, innovation, and continuous improvement.
