Description:

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support a busy and fast-paced HR team based in Matlock. This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career HR professional to gain broader exposure in a dynamic multi-site environment, with hands-on involvement in administration, employee relations, recruitment, and strategic HR projects including wellbeing and engagement initiatives.

The role is fully on-site, with the added benefit of an early finish on Fridays.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update HR databases, records, and documentation accurately.

  • Manage administrative processes related to new starters, leavers, and internal transfers.

  • Support the end-to-end recruitment cycle, from interview scheduling to offer letters and onboarding.

  • Serve as a first point of contact for HR queries regarding payroll, holiday, and absence.

  • Attend employee relations meetings (e.g., grievance or disciplinary), taking minutes and ensuring proper documentation.

  • Generate HR reports (absence, headcount, holiday) and support process improvements.

  • Monitor and manage absence tracking, reviews, and documentation.

  • Assist with apprentice development reviews and various HR-led projects.

  • Contribute to employee engagement efforts, including wellbeing initiatives, newsletters, and social events.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in an HR role (Apprenticeship, Admin, or Assistant level).

  • Strong understanding of basic HR processes and administration.

  • High level of attention to detail and confidentiality.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with employees at all levels.

  • Comfortable analysing HR data and producing insightful reports.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ideally HRIS platforms.
