The Role & Key Responsibilities

Surrey and Sussex Police’s People Services Department have a permanent vacancy and a Fixed Term Contract position for a HR performance analyst. The fixed term contract position will be in place until 31st March 2024. As an analyst within the People Services Performance and Reporting team you will be involved in the development, maintaining and communicating people-related performance data and management information across all levels of the Force.

In this role some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintaining innovative analytical tools to ensure relevant, consistent and timely management information is available to assist in HR decision making. You will be using technology such as MS Excel, Power BI and will use query languages such as SQL
  • Produce regular people-related performance data to be used within People Services and the wider Force to assist with day-to-day operations. Data will also need to be provided to external agencies and Forces.
  • Analyse data and present these findings to all levels of the Force, who will use your insight to support people related decisions.
  • Create strong working relationships across the organisation and with external agencies in order to provide technical and professional guidance in the efficient use of people-related management information and to assist with development of systems and reporting tools.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for bright and enthusiastic individuals who have the following skills and experience:

  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and well-developed IT skills with experience of using MS Office products, in particularly using advanced functionality in MS Excel.
  • A-Level or Equivalent education and/or well proven and evidenced experience of analysing data and statistical modelling.
  • Well-developed communication skills to allow presentation of findings across all levels of the organisation using various verbal and written methods.
  • A good understanding of HR data and the application of how it can be collated and utilised across the Force.
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills to allow the ability to meet timescales without close supervision and to respond flexibly to rapidly changing demands.
