Description:

Barnsley Council is seeking a Guitar/Ukulele Music Tutor to join their Growth & Sustainability Directorate, working within the Regeneration and Culture service. The role involves teaching instrumental music to children in primary and secondary schools across the borough. This is a permanent role on Teachers’ terms and conditions, offering a term-time working pattern with school holidays, access to a Teachers’ pension, and a laptop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach guitar/ukulele to whole classes of Key Stage Two children in primary schools

  • Teach guitar to small groups (3–4 children) and individuals in primary and secondary schools throughout Barnsley

  • Work two days per week, including Friday

  • Support the music service team and contribute to high-quality music education across the borough
