Description:

Airbus is offering a 12.5-month Energy & Sustainability Placement within the Facilities Management and Real Estate (FMRE UK) organisation at its Filton site. This hybrid role provides undergraduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across Airbus’ UK portfolio, supporting energy, water, and sustainability initiatives while contributing to the company’s 2030 Sustainability Goals.

The placement offers direct involvement in:

• Energy and water consumption management, billing, monitoring, and reporting

• Energy/water forecasting and target setting

• Specification and validation of efficiency improvement projects

• Decarbonisation and renewable energy projects

• Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 50001)

• Supporting the achievement of Airbus’ High5+ Sustainability Targets

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support Energy/Water strategies and efficiency projects

• Analyse data and contribute to energy/water saving action plans

• Gain experience with digitalization tools such as metering systems, Building Management Systems, and Energy/Water Management software

• Learn about energy management strategies, global/local energy markets, and relevant codes, standards, and regulations

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Airbus Commercial and Defence & Space divisions

Requirements:

• Must be an undergraduate for the full duration of the placement; include graduation date in application

• Studying a degree in Engineering, Energy/Water Management, Environmental Engineering, Facility Management, or related fields with a sustainability focus

• Data analysis, report writing, and presentation skills

• Proactive, enthusiastic, hands-on, and creative problem-solving mindset

• Interest in Environment and Sustainability

Security Clearance:

• Subject to BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check

• May require UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control depending on the role
