It Support Technician

 

Description:

We’re looking for an IT Support Technician to join our busy IT team at our Great Yarmouth site. In this role, you’ll provide both remote and onsite support up to 3rd‑line level, working across desktops, laptops, applications, and local infrastructure. This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a challenging, busy and varied role and who enjoys working with a wide range of technologies.

Main Responsibilities:
 

  • Carrying out IT Support and System Administration using Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Azure Active Directory/ Exchange Online/ SharePoint Online/ Teams. IT on-boarding/ off-boarding and employee IT inductions as required.
  • PC builds and troubleshooting of hardware and software problems.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of the network infrastructure to include any cabling requirements.
  • Software management to include software installation, troubleshooting issues and identifying/ resolving Cyber vulnerabilities and patching.
  • Speaking to 3rd party support companies as required to efficiently resolve issues.
  • User account administration – mainly using Active Directory/ Azure Active Directory.
  • Working alongside remote team members to provide remote support/ cover where needed.
  • Manage workload via helpdesk tickets.
  • Monitoring and remediation as necessary of daily backups, support data recovery ensuring confidentiality.
     

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
 

  • Computing Degree and/ or Microsoft MCSE accreditation is desirable
  • Previous experience maintaining a corporate technical infrastructure
  • Previous experience providing remote support
  • Experience supporting an Azure platform
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office 365
  • Good administrative understanding of Microsoft Server 2016+ including Group Policy deployment
  • Knowledge of networking techniques and protocols, TCP/IP, Switches, DNS, DHCP, Security Appliances, Routers, VPN, VLAN
  • Knowledge of industry standard practises and tools.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Cyber & Information Security
