Java Developer

Description:

Marmion is recruiting for a Java Developer – ERP Integration to join an innovative ERP integrations software company based in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven developer who thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment, enjoys working with complex systems, and wants to have a real impact on product evolution.

As part of a hybrid team (3 days onsite), you will report to the Technical Director and play a key role in developing and maintaining both core applications (Java-based) and supporting ERP-related satellite systems using C#. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, adaptable, and excited to contribute to both development and operational tasks across the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write, test, and maintain Java applications (90% focus)

• Support C#-based tools and ERP connectors (10%)

• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and software documentation

• Collaborate with QA teams to support testing processes and future automation strategies

• Work closely with the support team to troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs

• Maintain third-party dependencies such as Java JRE, Jetty, Chilkat, and nSoftware AS2

• Utilize Azure DevOps for release cycles, sprint planning, and ticket management

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Java and C#

• Experience with SQL, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, and version control systems

• Understanding of software design principles and clean code practices

• ERP system knowledge, particularly Sage or SAP B1 (desirable)

• Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, ASP.NET MVC, and Azure DevOps

• Strong communication, critical thinking, and time management skills
