Java Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Improve and support large-scale backend applications operating in a regulated environment.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based microservices.

• Collaborate with global teams across the UK and US to improve system performance and stability.

• Participate actively in incident resolution, defect management, and technical improvements.

• Work with modern technologies including Java 11+, Spring Framework, Kafka, MongoDB, and GitLab.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 4 years of Java development experience, preferably with Java 11 or newer.

• Strong knowledge of Spring Framework and microservices architecture.

• Experience in supporting or enhancing critical backend applications.

• Familiarity with Kafka or similar messaging platforms.

• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.

• Understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience in production support or application maintenance.

• Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation frameworks such as JUnit and Gherkin.

• Background working in financial services, fintech, or industries using Java 11+ applications.
