Lead Web Engineer

Description:

QAD Redzone is seeking an experienced Principal (Lead) Web Engineer to play a critical role in setting the technical direction for their engineering team and driving innovation in manufacturing productivity solutions. This is a fully remote role within the UK, with no visa sponsorship available.

The Principal Web Engineer will develop and enhance manufacturing workflows in Redzone web applications, leverage agentic AI tools to accelerate delivery, and enable the team to multiply their impact. The role requires working closely with the team to maintain a competitive edge using the latest web technologies, deploying features safely with feature flags, providing subject matter expertise during incidents, and contributing ideas to continuously improve systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and deploy manufacturing workflows in Redzone Web applications.

• Deliver committed sprint work to meet business goals.

• Use feature flags to iterate rapidly and reduce production risk.

• Provide subject matter expertise to resolve customer issues efficiently.

• Participate in forums and contribute to continuous improvement.

• Commit to team collaboration to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• 7+ years Web Development, including 3+ years with Vue

• Experience with Agentic AI tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot Workspace)

• Experience building cross-platform apps (Electron, Capacitor)

• Strong knowledge of Vue 3 and TypeScript

• Experience with packages like Bun, Deno, Nest.js

• CI/CD with GitHub Actions

• API-first design using OpenAPI Spec (OAS)

• RESTful API development

• Writing testable code, trunk-based development, and continuous delivery

• Experience deploying web apps on mobile and desktop platforms

• Structured AI agent prompting and debugging

Nice to Have:

• Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architectures

• Generating endpoints/models from OAS

• Server-side JavaScript with Node.js

• Launch Darkly feature flagging

• Docker
