Low Voltage Or High Voltage Electrical Construction Fitter

Description:

SSEN Distribution is seeking Low Voltage or High Voltage Electrical Construction Fitters to join our team in Southern England. This role involves constructing and maintaining electrical apparatus within substations on the electricity distribution network from 11kV to 132kV.

You’ll be part of a supportive team where safety is the top priority and have the opportunity to contribute to improvements in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safe delivery of construction projects in live electricity substation environments.
• Emergency response to fault scenarios as required.
• Installing and commissioning new CT Metering apparatus.
• Providing excellent customer service, ensuring clear communication and updates.

Candidate Requirements:

✔ Experience working in live electricity substation environments (11kV - 132kV).
✔ Knowledge of DC battery systems, internal panel wiring, multicore cable terminating and glanding, wiring circuit breakers, CTs/VTs, AC/DC wiring, and replacing 33kV outdoor circuit breakers and isolators.
✔ Strong understanding of CDM regulations and safety standards.
✔ Previous electricity network operational authorisations are a plus.
✔ Additional certifications in scaffolding, telehandler, furzeweld, working at heights, confined space, asbestos, COSHH, Loler, and SMSTS are beneficial.
✔ Full UK driving license required.
✔ Flexibility to travel extensively within the network area.
