Description:

Psicon Ltd, a specialist neurodevelopmental service provider working closely with various NHS trusts, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their Finance team. Psicon provides autism and ADHD assessments and is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of psychological support and healthcare services.

In this role, you will report directly to the Financial Controller and take responsibility for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, managing credit control, and overseeing the work of Accounts Assistants. The position requires a balance of hands-on accounting expertise with leadership capabilities to support and develop the finance team, while also improving financial processes and systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional with a proactive and collaborative approach who enjoys contributing to both operational accounting and strategic improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts in collaboration with the Financial Controller.

  • Support annual audits, liaising with external auditors and ensuring statutory compliance.

  • Supervise and mentor Accounts Assistants, ensuring accurate and timely completion of transactional tasks (purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, etc.).

  • Manage the credit control function and ensure timely debtor collection.

  • Drive process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Provide financial insights and support to various business areas.

  • Contribute to ad hoc projects within the Finance team and wider organisation.


Experience and Skills Required:

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Strong knowledge of management accounting and financial reporting standards (FRS102).

  • Previous experience managing or supervising a small finance team.

  • Strong technical accounting and Excel skills with experience in accounting software packages.

  • Excellent organisational abilities with capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.


Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary between £40,000 – £50,000 per year (£3333 – £4166 per month).

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (37.5 hours per week).
