Description:
The University of Law is seeking an Academic English Language Manager to lead the design and delivery of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) provision within the Library & Learning Skills department. This role focuses on supporting students with English as a second language, ensuring they can fully engage with their studies. The position involves developing learning interventions, delivering workshops, one-to-one sessions, and embedded content, and providing guidance to academic colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a range of EAP learning interventions in collaboration with students and colleagues
Design, develop, and deliver a framework of EAP support for students with English as a second language
Provide EAP expertise and guidance to academic colleagues on teaching, materials, assessments, and feedback
Produce reports and review the impact of EAP provision on student learning
Skills and Experience Required:
Recognised specialist qualification in English language teaching (e.g., CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL, English for Academic Practice)
Experience in creating and delivering EAP support through workshops, one-to-ones, group sessions, and embedded content
Ability to facilitate active student learning and adapt approaches as required
Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and problem-solve independently
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: £42,000 per annum
