Description:

The University of Law is seeking an Academic English Language Manager to lead the design and delivery of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) provision within the Library & Learning Skills department. This role focuses on supporting students with English as a second language, ensuring they can fully engage with their studies. The position involves developing learning interventions, delivering workshops, one-to-one sessions, and embedded content, and providing guidance to academic colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a range of EAP learning interventions in collaboration with students and colleagues

  • Design, develop, and deliver a framework of EAP support for students with English as a second language

  • Provide EAP expertise and guidance to academic colleagues on teaching, materials, assessments, and feedback

  • Produce reports and review the impact of EAP provision on student learning

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Recognised specialist qualification in English language teaching (e.g., CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL, English for Academic Practice)

  • Experience in creating and delivering EAP support through workshops, one-to-ones, group sessions, and embedded content

  • Ability to facilitate active student learning and adapt approaches as required

  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and problem-solve independently

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: £42,000 per annum
