Description:
We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Marketing Director to lead and scale Room Review’s marketing function.
This is a leadership role for someone who:
- Thinks like a growth hacker and brand builder at the same time
- Can design strategy AND execute
- Wants to shape marketing from zero to scale in a startup environment
You will define our marketing direction, lead campaigns, and build a system that drives user growth, engagement, and brand trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a full-funnel marketing strategy (awareness → acquisition → retention)
- Build and manage RoomReview’s brand positioning and messaging
- Lead and coordinate social media, content, SEO, and community growth
- Design and launch creative marketing campaigns that drive user acquisition
- Manage and mentor contributors (content creators, SEO writers, community team)
- Identify and test growth channels (organic, partnerships, guerrilla marketing, etc.)
- Oversee performance tracking and optimize based on data
- Collaborate with product and leadership to align marketing with platform development
- Develop partnerships with universities, communities, and housing networks
- Drive pre-launch and post-launch user growth strategy
Requirements
- Experience in marketing, growth, or brand strategy (startup experience is a big plus)
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels (social, SEO, content, campaigns)
- Ability to think strategically and execute independently
- Experience leading or coordinating teams (even small or informal teams)
- Analytical mindset with ability to track and interpret performance metrics
- Entrepreneurial attitude and comfort working in a fast-moving startup
- Passion for solving real-world problems and building impactful products
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience in proptech, marketplaces, or startups
- Knowledge of UK rental market
- Experience launching or scaling a product
- Paid ads / performance marketing experience
- Community-led growth experience
