Xpertise Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Team Lead to join a product team in central Manchester. This role offers the opportunity to shape the technical direction of a modern SaaS platform while leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing engineering team.

You will be responsible for owning delivery, guiding your team through complex engineering challenges, and driving best practices across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of software delivery, ensuring the successful development of business-critical solutions.

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers, fostering growth and professional development.

• Work closely with senior stakeholders across technology and product functions to align on priorities and direction.

• Champion engineering excellence, embedding practices such as test-driven development (TDD), peer reviews, and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance professionals to streamline delivery processes.

• Play a central role in shaping the culture of collaboration, energy, and innovation within the team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• A seasoned leader with hands-on experience in software development.

• Deep knowledge of C#/.NET and Azure cloud services.

• Exposure to React front-end development is highly advantageous.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate engineers, helping them achieve technical and personal goals.

• A communicator with strong interpersonal skills, passionate about building relationships across teams.

• Enthusiastic about producing high-quality, maintainable code using modern engineering techniques.
