Medical Field Team Leader

 

Description:

The Medical Field Team Leader - Immunology is responsible for leading the daily operations of Medical Science Liaison and Medical Education Associates across the UK and ROI. The role involves capacity and personnel management, coaching, business and project planning, and cross-functional communication. Focus is on team development via frequent 1:1 coaching, field visits, and performance management. The leader ensures compliance with laws, guidelines, and Lilly policies and oversees the timely delivery of medical objectives aligned with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop team performance through coaching, training, and feedback.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate, medical, regulatory, and business requirements.

  • Oversee recruitment, succession planning, and talent management activities.

  • Optimize field operations and team effectiveness in building relationships with scientific experts.

  • Manage medical materials lifecycle and certification processes.

  • Collaborate closely with therapy area leads and cross-functional colleagues.

  • Facilitate scientific intelligence gathering and communication to support decision-making.

  • Partner on business planning and budget management.

  • Lead or support special projects as needed.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel frequently, with about 60% of time spent coaching and interacting with the team in the field.

  • Must reside in the UK with access to a transport hub (airport/train station).
