We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced OSS Architect for a contract-based opportunity in Newbury, UK. This is an exciting role for an individual who is passionate about designing and implementing next-generation Operational Support System (OSS) solutions across fixed and mobile converged networks such as FTTH, 5G, LTE, and xDSL. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise and strategic vision to lead architectural initiatives that align business goals with robust, scalable OSS frameworks.

The OSS Architect will play a pivotal role in developing end-to-end architectural designs covering inventory, service fulfillment, assurance, and orchestration layers. You will work in close coordination with BSS, network engineering, and IT teams, ensuring the integration of OSS frameworks with overall system infrastructure. The role demands hands-on leadership in OSS transformation, encompassing legacy modernization, cloud-native migration, and adoption of AI/ML and automation technologies.

Your responsibilities will include defining architectural patterns for zero-touch provisioning, closed-loop assurance, and intelligent operations, while adhering to industry standards such as TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID, Open APIs). You will also evaluate COTS OSS solutions, support vendor assessments, and provide architectural documentation and guidance to multidisciplinary teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.

• 7+ years of experience in OSS architecture with strong exposure to both fixed and mobile networks.

• Solid knowledge of IP/MPLS, 5G/4G RAN, GPON, DOCSIS, VoIP, and IMS.

• Deep understanding of OSS domains including NMS, performance and fault management, service activation, provisioning, and inventory.

• Hands-on experience with OSS tools and vendors like Netcracker, Amdocs, Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, or custom solutions.

• Familiar with SDN/NFV, Kubernetes, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices.

• Proficient in TM Forum standards, Open APIs, and ITIL best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in automation/orchestration tools such as Ansible, Camunda, TOSCA, or ONAP.

• Experience with network operations leveraging AI/ML and data analytics.

• TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture frameworks.
