Part-time Veterinary Surgeon

Vets for Pets is seeking an experienced part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join a stable and supportive team in a well-equipped practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity to mentor junior staff, develop specialisms, and contribute to high-quality veterinary care in a purpose-built facility.

The practice holds multiple certifications, including an ISFM Silver Certificate Cat Friendly Clinic award, a RAW Silver Rabbit Friendly award, a Compassion Understood Bronze award, and an SPVS Wellbeing award.

This role provides a flexible working arrangement, making it ideal for those seeking a work-life balance.

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform a varied caseload including orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries.
• Provide mentorship to junior veterinary professionals.
• Help influence and maintain high standards of patient care.
• Work collaboratively with a supportive team of 3 vets, 4 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 1 PM, and 4 receptionists.
• Utilize excellent facilities, including an operating theatre, three consult rooms, large prep area, x-ray room, isolation block, and separate cat and dog kennels.

Work Schedule & Flexibility:

• Part-Time: Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays (3 days per week).
• 1 in 3 Saturday Mornings.
• No Out-of-Hours (OOH) or Sunday Work.
• Flexible working arrangements available (contact for discussion).

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

• Veterinary Degree and license to practice in the UK.
• Experience in veterinary surgery and general practice.
• Confident in surgery and handling a variety of cases.
• Ability to mentor and support junior colleagues.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary of up to £60,000 (FTE, DOE).
• 5.6 weeks of paid holiday (excluding bank holidays).
