Principal Accountant

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority for a Principal Accountant in Warwickshire (Fully Remote) to join the Councils finance department to cover Maternity Leave within the team.

The Role of Principal Accountant

• Lead on the Authority’s Housing and Assets Budget Setting, enhancing existing processes and ensuring a balanced budget is delivered within strict deadlines.
• Working with managers to review and set the new financial years budget.
• Supporting with the external Audit of the Accounts for the previous financial year.
• Preparing the HRA Business Plan and HIP.

The Person required for Principal Accountant

• Has previous experience in a similar role within local authority.
• Has strong ICT and report writing skills.
• Part qualified CCAB accountant or equivalent qualification.
