Principal Building Regulation Consultant

Description:

A rapidly growing building regulations compliance consultancy firm is looking to appoint a Principal Building Regulation Consultant on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a hybrid role, allowing candidates to be based anywhere in the UK.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design team, providing expert advice, assessments, and solutions to ensure compliance with Building Regulations across a wide range of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Engagement & Project Scope: Work closely with clients and professional teams, managing fee proposals and project scope discussions.
• Scheme Proposal Reviews: Conduct initial compliance assessments with detailed comments and mark-ups.
• Design Team Collaboration: Attend meetings with clients and design teams to discuss compliance feedback and solutions.
• Regulatory Consultation: Provide expert guidance during the early-stage design development process.
• Ad-hoc Building Regulation Advice: Offer specialist recommendations as needed.
• Report Writing & Compliance Annotations: Create detailed reports to support design submissions for approving authorities.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

✅ Chartered Membership – Must be a member of CABE, RICS, or CIOB.
✅ Registered Building Inspector (Minimum Level 2F).
✅ Proven Experience as a Building Control Surveyor or Registered Building Inspector.
