A.D.S Construction Personnel Ltd is hiring an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and highly reputable family-run contractor based in Market Deeping, Peterborough. The organization has over 45 years of legacy, now managed by the third generation and delivering projects worth over £40 million annually. Their focus is largely on social housing, with projects ranging from £4 million to £15 million.

The company maintains a traditional contracting approach, employing nearly 50 tradespeople in-house, ensuring superior quality control and consistency across all developments. With a low staff turnover and long-tenured employees, including a Site Manager who’s been with the company for over 40 years, they pride themselves on fostering a stable, loyal, and motivated workforce.

The successful candidate will work in a 10-member commercial team, reporting to an Associate Director. You will be based in their modern, purpose-built rural offices, with regular visits to project sites within a 1.5-hour radius.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee cost planning and financial control of construction projects

• Conduct site visits and support project delivery teams in commercial matters

• Work on JCT Design & Build contracts, predominantly for social housing projects

• Provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting

• Ensure value engineering and cost efficiencies are achieved

• Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to meet financial targets

• Handle subcontractor payments, variations, and final accounts

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the housing or main contracting sectors

• Qualified to HNC level or above in a relevant field

• Strong understanding of JCT D&B contracts

• Detail-oriented with excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills

• Capable of working independently while collaborating with wider teams

• Full UK driving license preferred due to site travel requirements
