Description:
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of their projects, acting as the main commercial point of contact and working closely with the operational team to ensure strong commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
The role will involve independently managing CVRs and cost reporting, taking an active role in the buying process and managing the commercial relationship with subcontractors and other key stakeholders.
The position would suit a Project Quantity Surveyor with a strong main contracting background. Experience within remediation, external refurbishment, facades or cladding would be advantageous, although specific sector experience is not essential.
Based primarily from the company's Clerkenwell office, the role will also involve semi-regular site visits across London. The business offers two days working from home per week, alongside travel expenses, pension and a medical plan.

Responsibilities:
- Taking commercial responsibility for construction projects from start through to completion
- Acting as the main commercial point of contact for the project
- Independently preparing and managing CVRs, cost reports and commercial forecasts
- Monitoring project costs, expenditure and commercial performance
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities and implementing appropriate cost control measures
- Taking an active role in the buying process, including subcontractor procurement and package management
- Preparing and analysing subcontract enquiries and tenders
- Managing subcontractor payments, valuations, variations and final accounts
- Working closely with project managers, site teams and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery
- Maintaining strong commercial relationships with clients, subcontractors and other key stakeholders
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Project Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
- Strong commercial experience across cost management, CVRs, reporting, procurement and subcontractor management
- Previous experience working on remediation, external refurbishment, facade or cladding projects would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of the commercial lifecycle of a construction project
- Ability to independently manage CVRs and cost reporting
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to act as the main commercial point of contact and take ownership of project commercial responsibilities
- Willingness to travel to sites across London as required
