Granta Veterinary Specialists (GVS), an independent specialist-led referral hospital in Linton, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a dedicated Weekend Ward Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their team. This is an opportunity to become the steady, compassionate presence for in-patients during critical weekend hours.

As a Weekend Ward RVN, you’ll work closely with referral vets and fellow nurses to provide attentive, high-standard care to hospitalised animals. Your responsibilities will include monitoring post-operative and critical care cases, administering medication and fluids, and ensuring seamless handovers through accurate record-keeping.

This role is ideal for a compassionate, calm, and experienced veterinary nurse who thrives in a collaborative clinical environment and is passionate about exceptional animal care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to hospitalised patients

• Monitor and support post-operative and critical care cases

• Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and general patient TLC

• Maintain clear, precise clinical notes and contribute to smooth shift handovers

• Collaborate closely with referral veterinary professionals to ensure optimal outcomes

Requirements:

• Must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

• Prior experience in a ward or emergency setting is essential

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively as part of a team

• Demonstrates kindness, compassion, and a commitment to excellence in patient care

• Strong communication and organisational skills
