Regulatory Officer

Description:

The Environment Agency is seeking professional and enthusiastic individuals to join its Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) team within Batteries, WEEE, and Shipments, part of Environmental Markets and Regulation. This national team regulates producers, reprocessors, and exporters to ensure compliance with producer responsibility regimes, protect the environment, and eliminate illegal activities.

As a Regulatory Officer, you will:

• Conduct both on-site and virtual audits.

• Take appropriate enforcement actions when necessary.

• Disrupt non-compliance in the industry.

• Collect, collate, and analyze complex datasets to support evidence-based decision-making.

• Handle confidential and sensitive information in compliance with data protection guidelines.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of regulatory processes and procedures.

The role involves national travel and overnight stays, with a mix of office, home, and field-based work. This is a vital, varied, and challenging position requiring strong self-motivation, discipline, and teamwork.
