Relationship Director

Description:

Propel Finance, one of the UK's largest independent finance houses, is seeking a Relationship Director to join their Asset Finance team and drive commercial growth across SME and mid-corporate segments. Established in 1996, Propel provides flexible and accessible finance solutions, supporting business growth across multiple sectors.

As a Relationship Director, you will be responsible for originating, developing, and maintaining long-term client relationships with businesses ranging from established SMEs to mid-market corporates. You will work directly and through strategic partner channels to create tailored asset finance solutions aligned with each client’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and grow a strong client portfolio across varied sectors.

• Consult with senior stakeholders to understand funding needs and business goals.

• Structure asset finance solutions (both hard and soft assets) to support expansion and productivity.

• Conduct comprehensive financial and credit analysis to inform sound decision-making.

• Present well-articulated, solution-led proposals to clients.

• Ensure a high-quality, informed, and supportive client experience from first contact to deal completion.

• Work autonomously while benefiting from a highly collaborative internal team culture.

Key Requirements:

• Recent and relevant experience in Corporate or Commercial Banking with a focus on deal origination and structuring.

• Demonstrated credit skills and financial analysis capabilities.

• A deep understanding of operational risks, regulatory frameworks, and evolving economic conditions.

• Strong commercial acumen and a consultative, client-focused approach.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence at senior levels.

• High self-motivation and ability to manage a diverse workload independently.
