Description:

The Safe Autonomy Group at WMG, University of Warwick, is seeking a Research Fellow in Safe AI to contribute to the EPSRC-funded project “Harnessing Synthetic Data Fidelity for Assured Perception of Autonomous Vehicles.”

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced research on synthetic data fidelity for the verification and validation of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs).
  • Apply cutting-edge techniques in machine learning (ML) testing, formal verification, explainable AI (XAI), robust ML training, and uncertainty quantification.
  • Develop frameworks to quantify synthetic data fidelity and assess its impact on AV safety.
  • Collaborate with academic and industry partners on high-impact projects.
  • Publish research findings in leading journals and conferences.
  • Engage in stakeholder communication, PR efforts, and policy-making contributions.

Qualifications:

  • Background in Safe AI, cognitive systems, or related fields.
  • Experience with systems-thinking approaches (e.g., STPA), safety assurance cases, and statistical modeling.
  • Proficiency in advanced machine learning methodologies and safety standards.

Additional Information:

  • The successful candidate will work on projects funded by Innovate UK, Horizon Europe, and industrial partners.
